Hungarian revenue stamps - from my fiscal collection

Hungarian revenue stamps were issued to collect taxes and fees on goods, documents, and
services, rather than
for postal purposes. These fiscal stamps provide a detailed insight into the administrative, economic, and legal
systems of Hungary from the late 19th century through the 20th century.
This collection focuses especially on alcohol and tobacco revenue stamps, which were used to confirm the payment
of excise duties on spirits, wine, beer, and tobacco products. Such stamps were typically affixed to bottles,
packages, or official documents and often feature ornate designs, national symbols, coats of arms, and clear
denomination markings.
In addition to alcohol and tobacco issues, the collection includes a variety of documentary and fiscal stamps
used for:
- legal and governmental documents
- licenses and official permits
- commercial transactions and contracts
- medical and pharmaceutical products
Hungarian revenue stamps are highly collectible due to their wide range of designs, color variations, overprints, and usage types. Many issues exist in multiple printings or with subtle differences, making them an attractive area of study for both postal historians and fiscal stamp collectors.
